DIR-DR: Facility Procedure to ACR Common ID Mapping Guide

Purpose

This document is developed to help the user align their site-specific procedure names (as defined in the RIS or PACS) with the appropriate ACR Common Identifiers (Common IDs) used in the ACR Dose Index Registry (DIR) Digital Radiography (DR) module. The following table serves as a mapping guide, showing example procedure names with their corresponding body regions and common views (e.g., AP, PA, lateral, oblique). The table can be used to improve the consistency of data categorization across facilities, support meaningful comparisons of facility data against national benchmarks, and facilitate quality initiatives such as dose optimization, target exposure index tracking, and outlier identification.

In the table, the facility procedure names come from the Study Description or Requested Procedure Description tag name. The table also clarifies the body region and provides the common views associated with each ACR common ID.

Note: See Table in the Excel document attached at the bottom of this article.
