NRDR 13.29 Release Notes

The following update is being introduced as part of NRDR version 13.29 on  August 2nd, 2025.


NRDR Improvements

  • A new attribute has been added to each patient record to note the registry that patient belongs to. This applies to CTC, LCSR and NMD registries only.

  • For enhanced security and data protection, Registry Administrators can now only manage patients of the facility and registry that they have access to. Facility Administrators can manage all patients of the facility that they have access to. 

Note: For more information on user types and permissions, please refer to the NRDR Accounts and Profiles article. 

  • Registry Administrators can now only view history of changes for patients in the registry and facility that they have access to. Facility Administrators can view history of changes for all patients of the facility that they have access to.

  • Registry Administrators and Facility Administrators are able to view the full list of patients for the facility they are assigned to in the Resolve Patient Duplicates form. This applies to CTC, LCSR and NMD registries only.

Note: Please refer to the Manage Patients article for more information on patient management.

  • Participation details for Assess-AI have been updated when registering a new facility or adding a new registry to an existing facility. 

  • To reduce processing delays, data file uploads now have a maximum limit of 200,000 rows for Excel files and 50MB for non-Excel files for CTC, LCSR, GRID, NMD and 3DP registries.

  • The ability to add a patient is no longer an option in the Manage Patients form. Only by submitting a data file, creating a web form or sending records via web-based transmission can you create a new patient record

  • Patients history will show only events related to patients for which the Registry Administrator has registry access to and Facility Administrator has facility access to. 


GRID Improvements

  • The new exam level data elements form version 2.2 is now available. Please refer to the GRID Exam-Level Data File Reference article for more information.

  • Starting with version 2.2, “9” (Stereotactic breast biopsy) will no longer be a valid value for “Modality". Option “3” (Interventional or fluoroscopy) should be used instead. 

Note: The position of the TIN field has now been moved and will appear between the Multiple Readers column and CPT HCPCS Code column.
  • Exam level data elements from version 2.1 that are now obsolete in version 2.2 will be ignored when submitting using version 2.1. A list of now obsolete data elements can be found in the attachments. Please refer to the GRID Exam-Level Data File Reference article for more information.

  • Information has been included in the GRID Annual Facility form instructing users to enter an estimate of number of procedures that will be performed in the current year in the Number of Procedures during the Previous Calendar Year field if no procedures were performed the previous year. Please refer to the Manual Data Entry Instructions article for helpful tips on completing the manual forms. 

  • A numerical value greater than zero is now required to be entered in at least one of the MRI without contrast/MRI with contrast, MRI with and without contrast, Other imaging procedures fields in the volume section of the GRID Annual Facility form in order for the form to be saved. All other fields are now optional and can have a zero entered if at least one field has a value greater than zero.


LCSR Improvements 

  • Exam data version 1.8 is now available to enter data consistent with the new AJCC Cancer Staging Manual (9th edition). Please refer to the attachment at the bottom of the page for a full list of elements for version 1.8. Please refer to the LCSR Core Documents article for information on all LCSR data file versions.

  • M1 is now a permitted value in the M Status field in version 1.7 and 1.8.

  • Date of follow-up must be greater than or equal to date of exam in version 1.7 and 1.8

  • T1 and T2 are now permitted values in the T Status field in version 1.7 and 1.8 

  • Date of follow-up must be less than or equal to date of death in exam version 1.7 and 1.8 

  • Exam date must be less than or equal to the date of death in exam version 1.7 and 1.8

All changes will apply to the LCSR Exam web form, LCSR data file upload versions, data file template versions and JSON upload versions.


NMD Improvements

  • New logic has been added to the Date of Biopsy and Date of Previous Exam/Mammogram fields in the NMD Exam forms 2.0, 3.0 and 3.4.

    • Date of Biopsy must be greater than or equal to the date of exam, and less than or equal to the current date.

    • Date of Previous Exam/Mammogram must be greater than or equal to the date of birth, and less than or equal to the date of exam.
