The GRID Exam Data Upload File Specification and Data Element document, posted below, describes the file specification and each data element for exam-level data records used for capturing data for QCDR non-MIPS measures.

There are currently four file versions available:

    1.0 - Original version

1.1 - Includes a Facility ID data element, to allow multiple facilities to be submitted within a single file.

1.2 - Includes a Facility ID data element and two new data elements, "Multiple readers" and "Place of service."

2.0 -  Includes patient demographics, clinical focus and whether follow-up imaging is recommended or performed.

2.1 - Addition of Physician TIN.

Note: The Facility ID is optional; in the event the field is left blank, data will be uploaded to the current facility selected in the facility picker, in the upper right corner of the portal.

We encourage sites to convert to Version 1.2 at their earliest convenience, particularly if participating in QCDR, as the new fields may impact QCDR measures in future performance years.

Records submitted in GRID File Version 1.2 format will no longer be accepted after December 31, 2020. Versions 1.0 and 1.1 will not be accepted after March 31, 2020. In summary:

  • Until March 31, 2020: All versions of GRID accepted
  • April 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020: Only Versions 1.2 and 2.0 accepted
  • After December 31, 2020: Only Versions 2.0 and 2.1 accepted

Consult GRID Data File Uploads for detailed instructions for creating a file of exam-level data for upload to the GRID.

Note: GRID version 2.1 will be made available in December, and versions 2.0 and 2.1 will be accepted at that time.
