The GRID Semiannual Physician Report provides measures for each physician within a facility, for those physicians who submit monthly physician forms. Aggregate data across all physicians, and for all GRID facilities, are also provided for comparison purposes.
Reports are posted semi-annually, with results for January thru June and July thru December, and are available through the Aggregate Reports menu item in the GRID Reports menu. A sample report is available here.
The rest of this article briefly describes each section of the report.
The Measures Definitions table provides a brief description of each measure listed in the report. There are two types of process measures, available to all participants:
Digital radiography repeat rate, and
Turnaround Time statistics by modality (Radiography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and PET).
There are up to three outcome measures available for Gold Level participants who provide the required data.
GRID Measures Summaries
Summary tables provide results for process and outcome measures for each physician, for the facility, and for the entire registry.
Note: The Site column reflects the aggregate data for the physicians shown in the table, and may differ from the measures found in the GRID Semiannual Facility Report if data were not provided for all physicians.
Table cells are left blank for categories for which a facility was unable to provide data.
All participants receive a table of process measures and Gold Level participants also receive outcome measures.
Measure Variation Tables and Charts
The report includes tables and charts for each process measure with data for each physician, the facility, and all GRID sites.
The first two rows of the data table provide counts for the number of exams submitted as well as the number of physician forms submitted to the registry for each physician.
The second two rows provide tallies of the total number of physicians and the number of facilities contributing data for the reporting period.
Note: Physicians with zero forms submitted are not counted toward the Physicians total in row three.
Data for each measure are plotted on box plots, with results for each physician, for all physicians in the facility, and for the entire registry.
Trend charts show measures for the performance period, by month, for each physician and for the facility.
Note: Unlike data tables and box plots, trend charts aggregate all data for the facility, i.e. all monthly facility forms, rather than just the monthly physician forms. Consequently, the facility data set may be larger and the trend may be significantly different than the specific physicians plotted.
Reports for Gold Level participants include results for outcomes when data are available for at least one physician.
