As part of the ACR’s ongoing commitment to enhancing our systems and protecting NRDR participant data, the National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR) will institute single sign-on (SSO) technology on December 1, 2020.

The login enhancement, called ACR Login, employs technology from SSO market leader Okta that enables users to enter their login credentials one time on a single page to access all their ACR Login applications. In addition to NRDR, other applications currently available via ACR Login include ACR AIRP (for case submission), TRIAD (for clinical trials users), and, coming soon, ACRedit (for ACR Accreditation programs). During the next year, more ACR applications will be added to ACR Login.

Certain ACR Login applications, such as NRDR, will require Multifactor Authentication (MFA). MFA necessitates users entering an additional piece of information when logging in for enhanced data security, making it harder for user accounts to become compromised.

Note: NRDR participants will receive an MFA prompt only once per month when logging into the NRDR portal (requires checking the box in the MFA prompt "Do not challenge me on this device for the next 30 days"). The one exception is for participants outside of the United States who receive an MFA prompt every time they log into to NRDR portal (review MFA Enrollment Instructions).

What Does ACR Login Mean for NRDR Participants?

NRDR participants need to set up an ACR Login single sign-on account and enroll in one or more MFA methods (also know as MFA factors) following the steps below.

1. Be on the lookout for your ACR Login account activation email.

On Tuesday, December 1, 2020 all persons with an active NRDR account will receive an ACR-generated email from: as shown below.

Within 7 days of receiving this email, you must click the Activate your ACR Login button to create a new password for your new ACR Login account.

Please be aware that the link in the Activate your ACR Login button is for a one-time use.

2. Activate your SSO account.

Click the Activate Your ACR Login button to access the password set up page and instructions at: The ACR Login password must include:

  • At least 10 characters AND one or more:

    • Lowercase letters

    • Uppercase letters

    • Numbers

Note: Passwords must be changed every 90 days and cannot be the same as any of your last 24 ACR Login passwords.

Upon creating your password, click the Create My Account button to access the ACR Login dashboard at:

See the screenshot of this page below on which you will see all the ACR applications that are currently using ACR Login.

3. Enroll in Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

The first time NRDR participants accesses the NRDR portal using their new ACR Login account, they are prompted to enroll in the Okta multifactor authentication (MFA). Visit the MFA Enrollment Instructions page for set up instructions.

4. Log into the NRDR Portal

With ACR Login, participants have two ways to access the NRDR portal and their other ACR applications:

  • Launch the application from the ACR Login dashboard (see screenshot below).

  • Go to the NRDR portal home page at

    • Click the login button to access a page to enter your ACR Login credentials

    • Successfully entering credentials will take participants to an active session in the NRDR portal
