Note: These instructions are for MS Windows 7; there may be some differences in steps depending on your version of Windows.
Open Windows Explorer
Click Organize

Click Folder and Search Options

Click the View tab. Scroll down until you see Hide extensions for known file types; uncheck this option by clicking the checkbox (To hide file name extensions, you will have to recheck this box).
Click Ok.
