Change MS Windows Explorer Settings to Show Filename Extensions

Note: These instructions are for MS Windows 7; there may be some differences in steps depending on your version of Windows.

  • Open Windows Explorer

  • Click Organize

  • Click Folder and Search Options

  • Click the View tab. Scroll down until you see Hide extensions for known file types; uncheck this option by clicking the checkbox (To hide file name extensions, you will have to recheck this box).Windows Hide Extensions for Known File Types


  • Click Ok.
