Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR) Features

LCSR LogoThe ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR) helps clinicians monitor and demonstrate the quality of CT lung cancer screenings in their practice through periodic feedback reports that include peer and registry benchmarks. Because screening is performed on an asymptomatic population, there is an added responsibility for the medical community to ensure that risks and benefits are adequately measured and monitored. Contributing data to the LCSR not only helps clinicians improve their own quality of care, it also helps improve and refine lung cancer screening care for everyone at the national level.

Nearly 2,000 facilities have contributed data to the LCSR, creating a rich dataset to benchmark performance by

  • facility type (e.g. Community, Academic),

  • location (e.g. Metropolitan, Suburban, Rural), and

  • Census division

The LCSR is certified as a Practice Quality Improvement (PQI) project for American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV Programs.

Ease of Use and Fees

As part of the NRDR suite of registries the LCSR utilizes the same Physician and User dictionaries as other NRDR registries so that information need only be entered once, even if a facility participates in multiple registries.

In addition to online data entry forms the LCSR accepts direct electronic data file uploads or use of electronic transmission using web services with approved third-party vendors, making it easier to submit data quickly. See the LCSR Data Submission Overview for more information.

The annual participation fee for the LCSR is based on the number of physicians interpreting Lung Cancer Screening exams at a facility and the number of sites included in that facility, and there is no cost for facilities already participating in either GRID or DIR. See Registration and Participation Fees for more information.
